The Importance of Rest…

I am just back in work after 2 weeks off.  I have never taken 2 weeks together and boy do I regret it.  Suddenly I know what it means to feel great, mentally and physically and emotionally..  I am not longer liable to burst into tears and the cuts on my knees are fully healed, I feel sane again.

It is so important to stop.. to listen to your body and realise that you don’t need to do EVERYTHING, you don’t need to fit everything into your day, it is very necessary to stop and enjoy life.

The 2 weeks were wonderful, my fabulous boyfriend kicked it all off by bringing me to a great restaurant, called Aqua, it looks out on the howth coastline and set the mood for how things were going to go.  This was followed by a fabulous night in Killarney with my sisters. It is an annual thing, we try to get together in honor of our Mum, so we went to the Europe Hotel for the first time and discovered an amazing place that she would have loved.  A very luxurious and relaxed 5* hotel that pays great attention to the little details..  My only compliant was that the carpet pile was too, thick, I couldn’t lift my foot properly and ended up falling.

This was followed by 9 days in wonderful days in Tenerife.  It is great to get away and see something different, to appreciate the view

I suppose what I am trying to encourage is that you take the break, you wont realise how much you needed it until it is over!!
